This Child Here: A project for Street Children
in Odessa, Ukraine
There are many sites on the Internet that encourage you to give funds for children in developing countries. Some are valid; some are not. Always contact any organization you wish to give to and talk personally with a representative either on the phone or by email. We prefer to speak personally with each donor. Remember that our time zone is 7 hours earlier than New York City My personal expenses are covered so unless you request so, you will not be financially supporting me or my business expenses. Funds can go for educational purposes, to purchase food, medical supplies and clothing. Donations can also be used for renovation or office supplies. Currently there is a need for funds to supplement staff salaries (currently, staff workers are paid the equivalent of $100 to $150 a month). There are essentially five ways money given to This Child Here can be used:
Option 1: Funds are needed for education and educational activites. We make available a variety of activies to children: computer classes, music lessons, trips to the theater. Funds can also be set aside for vocational schools or university following high school graduation.
Option 2: Use funds given for direct aid to children ( buying clothes, food, medicine, blankets, or paying educational expenses for teens for their vocation).
Option 3: Use funds for indirect assistance, such as funding for building renovation, kitchen equipment, schools supplies, windows, beds and so forth.
Option 4: Use funds to supplement the salaries of staff workers at shelters or orphanages. Many times donors do not want their money going to administrative costs, but these adults are the surrogate parents of these children. I see how they care for them and befriend them in small ways in the office. Staff workers receive only one hundred to one hundred and fifty dollars a month.
Option 5: Use funds given to provide my living in expenses in Ukraine. Here I would be asking you to invest in me. Currently I have my expenses covered from Oct 2006 to Oct 2007. I have been an ordained minister for 24 years. My resume is included in this sight.. Oversight for the expenditure of all funds will come from the Board of Directors of This Child Here
