Young Writers of Ukraine

The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine is pleased to announce a competition for the 2020 International Writing Program (IWP). This program is sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State and will cover all participant costs, including travel, housing and subsistence.

International Writing Program (IWP) will host international writers aged 15–18 years, alongside U.S. peers for a two-week residency at the University of Iowa on July 11–July 25, 2020. All program activities will be in English. These will include writing workshops, group and individual writing assignments, world literature seminars, cultural visits, and other local events. Upon the completion of the program, IWP will publish the students’ writing as an anthology.
